Our Chief Technology Officer will play a critical role in the response and oversight of Mindvalley’s short and long-term technical and engineering strategies. The CTO will exercise high-level and forward-thinking vision that corresponds with Mindvalley’s technological endeavors and analyze performance metrics for optimized solutions. The ideal candidate portrays a passion for all things tech, and provides exceptional leadership, promoting personal and professional growth towards employees and the company.

This role is crucial as Mindvalley makes moves towards a planned IPO. This role will play a large part in the advancement of infrastructure, compliance, and oversight. The Chief Technology Officer will play a part in the success of this objective and our organization for the future.

The role could be based in our Tallinn, Estonia office or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office

Responsibilities 

  • Oversee and design the company's system architecture, including risk assessments, assessment of existing systems, identification of new platforms and associated integration.
  • Working with the CEO, Design, Marketing and technology team to create innovative applications that will support and drive the business forward.
  • Oversee the Company's IT governance; work with the executive team to ensure our technology and people are enabled to achieve overall business objectives.
  • Lead strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all web-based services.
  • Define tech organization structure including workforce within a budget
  • Collaborate with the appropriate departments to assess and recommend technologies that support company organizational needs
  • Oversee the overall framework of IT policies, standards and strategies.
  • Develop and execute business-wide information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of company's data and servers.
  • Develop business-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Manage outsourced IT vendors with regards to website development and maintenance.
  • Establish quality assurance process including integration, system testing and change management.

Requirements 

  • Past CTO/Extensive leadership experience building and leading high-performance software development teams with eminent technology companies
  • Experience building and managing multiple department (Product, Engineering, IT Ops, Data) teams, aligning with the product roadmap and clear delivery milestones
  • Expansive network within the digital economy/technology sector
  • Ability to partner, collaborate and manage expectations of the Executive Leadership Team and the Board
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in executing and managing web application development.
  • Skills with Django Python, CSS, XHTML, and one or more Javascript frameworks.

Contributing experience (preferred, but not required) 

  • Experience leading larger engineering teams (100+)
  • Knowledge in tech/operational aspects of launch an IPO
